The mission of Kamp Iwannahavfun is to provide area children with a safe, fun, and memorable summer camp experience with diverse offerings for physical, intellectual, social, and cultural enrichment in a respectful environment.

We offer seven weeks of programming in which you can pick and choose weeks of interest, with programming geared towards children entering K-5th grade in the fall of 2017. The "Kamp" features partnerships with Catamount Arts, the Athenaeum, and Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium. This year are are pleased to partner with the St. Johnsbury School and it's 21st Century program C.A.T.C.H.

Students from the St. Johnsbury school district may qualify for tuition assistance for the program through grant funds. Contact Sarah Willey at the St. Johnsbury School at 745-2817 or more info.

Children will participate in fun games and activities led by both our staff and counselors as well as with local artists, musicians, and educators from our community partners. They will also have time to swim at the Kiwanis pool and we can make arrangements in most cases to walk children to and from the sports camps we also offer. (There is an additional fee for this)

Learn more below and come have fun with us!

Information
Our program will be based out of the St. Johnsbury School allowing easy access to basketball courts, playgrounds, ball fields, Kiwanis pool, and St. Johnsbury Academy grounds and facilities such as the track, Field House, and indoor swimming pool. All of these facilities are within walking distance of our "base camp." Every day will feature a fun mix of sports, games, arts and crafts, and hands-on educational activities. In addition to the fun we will have every day in our community, we have scheduled a diverse array of local and regional field trips each week.

Free lunch will be provided daily via the school summer lunch program. Campers are certainly welcome to bring their own bag lunch if they wish. Whether or not they choose the school lunch, campers should bring two snacks and a water bottle daily. (See more below)

Special Notes
All campers are entitled to a safe environment. If a child has difficulty following program expectations our staff will do everything possible to try and refocus and reintegrate the child's behaviors into camp norms. However, if problems continue or are detrimental to the camp experience for others, we reserve the right to withdraw the child from the program for the day, week, or possibly the summer based on the severity of the circumstance(s). Our program can not be successful if children have chronically disruptive behavior. By registering for our camp you are agreeing to these terms and to pick your child up from camp if we contact you.

If your child has an individual aide during the school year, you may want to consider having an aide with him or her at camp depending on your child's situation and needs. While our staff is extremely good at making camp fun for a diverse range of children, some campers may have more needs than we are capable of meeting without assistance. If you are uncertain, and your child is a St. Johnsbury School District child, please contact Sarah Willey at the St. Johnsbury School at the info above. We want to make sure your child is set up for success in the summer and will do everything we can to help within reason. Again, if your child has any special needs or behavioral concerns, PLEASE let us know. Your information will be kept confidential. We are happy to talk over any additional concerns you may have.
